• Usage data: words you search for, vocabulary lists you create, and your learning progress.

• Extension activity: words you look up via the browser extension, including inline lookups and subtitle interactions.

We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve the Wordnapse experience:

• Deliver dictionary lookups, translations, and AI-powered definitions.
• Sync your saved words and learning progress across devices.
• Personalize your learning experience based on your vocabulary level.
• Send important service updates (we never send marketing emails without consent).
• Analyze aggregate usage patterns to improve our product.
• We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Our use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

The Wordnapse browser extension operates with the following permissions and data practices:

• The extension reads text on web pages only when you actively select a word or hover over subtitles.
• No browsing history, page content, or personal data is collected in the background.
• Dictionary lookups are sent to our servers only when you explicitly trigger a search.
• The extension stores your authentication session locally to keep you signed in.
• YouTube and Netflix subtitle interactions are processed in real-time and not stored permanently unless you save a word.

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard practices:

• Account data and saved vocabulary are securely stored in our cloud database.
• Data is retained for as long as your account is active.
• You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account settings.
• Backups are encrypted and retained for up to 30 days for disaster recovery.

Wordnapse integrates with the following third-party services to deliver its functionality:

• Google OAuth for authentication.
• KRDict API for Korean dictionary definitions (no personal data is shared).
• Wiktionary API for dictionary definitions (no personal data is shared).
• AI language models for enhanced definitions (queries are anonymized).

We take the security of your data seriously. All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using TLS/SSL. We follow security best practices including parameterized queries, row-level security policies, and regular security audits. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
• Portability: Request an export of your vocabulary data in a standard format.
• Objection: Object to processing of your personal data for specific purposes.

Wordnapse is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete that information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of Wordnapse after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
